Scarlet

Born and raised between the Bronx and Puerto Rico Scarlet has explored her cultural identity within her art. Scarlet’s work displays the bold colors of the Caribbean with urban settings. The pieces range from abstract, fantasy to reality. In her works, Scarlet tries to convey her sense of wonder as she comes to term with her dual citizenship and delves deeply into her dreams.
Scarlet’s medium of choice is Acrylic although she also has some works in oil, watercolor and digital media.
Scarlet began painting in 1990 in Puerto Rico where she displayed her works in various exhibitions. In 2001 she moved to New York and worked with the Longwood Arts Project. Scarlet had her first solo exhibition May 2005. In 2007 she moved to the Glens Falls area. Currently she is a member of LARAC.
